WHAT IS PFLAG

PFLAG Cleveland satellite meetings are every 3rd Thursday from 6:30-8pm

Founded in 1973 after the simple act of a  mother publicly supporting her gay son. PFLAG is the nation’s largest family and ally organization. PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies.

With over 400 chapters and 200,000 members and supporters crossing multiple generations in major urban centers, small cities, and rural areas across America, PFLAG is committed to creating a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed.

PFLAG Cleveland was established in July, 1985 by Jane Daroff, LISW-s & Dr. Jes Sellers. Through their monthly support group meetings, they foster understanding and acceptance within families. Through education and advocacy, they change hearts and minds in the Greater Cleveland community.

PFLAG Cleveland now offers a satellite meeting at LGBTQ+ Allies Lake County. Betty Jacobs, Founder /Executive Director of LGBTQ+ Allies Lake County worked to bring PFLAG Cleveland to Lake County.  The satellite support group became a reality in August 2019. PFLAG Cleveland is another way for the LGBTQ+ community in Lake County to connect.
