Heff grew up in a small town in northwestern Pennsylvania, a place that shaped his understanding of community, resilience, and the importance of support systems. From a young age, he saw how essential it is for individuals—especially those in the LGBTQIA+ community—to have access to safe, inclusive spaces where they can be their authentic selves. This experience, combined with his deep personal commitment to change the way people see the world and themselves, has fueled his passion for LGBTQ+ advocacy.

Now living in Lake County with his wife and dog, Heff is an associate project manager and is pursuing a MBA specializing in organizational leadership. He brings a unique blend of leadership skills and compassion to his role as Secretary on the board. As a former facilitator for trans support groups, Heff has seen firsthand the profound impact that community and understanding can have on someone’s journey, particularly in spaces that often lack the resources and support needed.

For Heff, being involved with LGBTQ+Allies Lake County is about more than just providing services—it’s about creating a legacy of inclusion, empathy, and empowerment. He’s committed to ensuring that the organization continues to be a vital resource for the LGBTQ+ community, offering a place where individuals can find understanding, connection, and the support they deserve.

When not immersed in his work or advocacy, Heff finds joy in exploring many dimensions of life, from human connection to the beauty of nature, always striving to deepen his understanding of different perspectives.
